We offer fingerprint engraving on a wide range of jewelry styles: pendants and necklaces in heart, oval, bar, and round shapes; signet-style fingerprint rings; and charm bracelets. Using Funeral Home Scans, Ink Prints, or Old Documents
- Ink prints on paper. Press the finger onto a standard ink pad, then firmly onto white paper. Photograph or scan the result and send it to us digitally. This is the most common method.
- Funeral home digital scans. Many funeral homes capture digital fingerprint scans as part of their memorial services. These high-resolution files produce excellent engraving results.
- Old documents and ID cards. A clear photograph of a fingerprint from a birth certificate, military ID, legal document, or baby book can often be used. Our team will assess the quality.
- Photos from a phone. If you have a photo showing a visible fingerprint on a surface, send it to us. With adequate lighting and contrast, we can often extract what we need.
Digital Print Restoration: What if My Fingerprint Is Smudged?
This is the number one concern we hear, and the answer is reassuring. You do not need a perfect, crime-lab-quality print. Our design team uses digital enhancement software to clean up smudges, sharpen faded ridges, and restore clarity from prints that look unusable to the naked eye. We work with what you have.
Send us the best print available and we will evaluate it at no cost. If the ridge patterns are visible enough for our team to enhance, we will produce a restored digital proof for your review before any engraving begins. In most cases, even a partial or lightly smudged print contains enough unique detail to create a meaningful, recognizable engraving.
