Most dog tag orders fall into one of two jobs. A team, a unit or a family wants a handful of tags with names and a logo, often in a color. Or a school, a league or a company wants hundreds of identical tags to hand out. We price one tag for each job, so you can see the cost before you ask for anything.
- Stainless steel dog tag. Military size, 1.97" x 1.1". Laser engraved logo and text on a polished surface. Five finishes. Priced from one tag, with a lower setup from ten tags.
- Die-struck dog tag. 1.97" x 1.18" with a raised rim. Your design struck into the metal in relief, single sided or double sided. Priced from one tag and cheapest per tag from 100, chain included.

Stainless Steel Dog Tags in Five Finishes
The stainless tag is the one to pick for small and mixed orders. It is priced from a single piece, so a family can order one keepsake and a team can order exactly as many as it needs.
The surface is polished and your logo and text are laser engraved, so artwork with fine lines and small type comes out clean. Choose plain steel, gold or black, rose gold, or blue. Plain steel is the lowest price, blue is next, gold and black share a price, and rose gold is the highest.

Die-Struck Dog Tags for Bigger Runs
A die-struck tag is made by pressing the metal under a steel die cut from your artwork. The logo and lettering stand up from the surface and the tag carries a raised rim, so it reads as a medal-style keepsake rather than a printed tag.
Choose single sided or double sided. Double sided costs a little more per tag and carries a higher setup, because both faces need their own die. Every die-struck tag comes with a chain and its own poly bag. It is priced from a single tag, but the price per tag drops sharply at 100, so it is the better buy for big runs. Military Size or Small: Which Dog Tag Size?
Dog tags come in two common sizes, and the difference matters for how much text fits.
- Military size, 1.97" x 1.1" (about 2" x 1-1/8"). The size of a regulation identification tag, and the size of our stainless steel tag. Room for a logo plus a name and a short line or two.
- Die-struck size, 1.97" x 1.18". Slightly taller, with an imprint area of about 1.18" x 0.79" inside the raised rim.
- Small size, 1" x 1-1/2". Useful for a charm, a zipper pull or a child's tag. We quote this size on request rather than list a price for it.
If you are unsure, send your artwork and how many lines you want. The proof shows exactly how it fits on the tag before anything is made.
What to Put on a Custom Dog Tag
For a team or league: the logo on top, then the player name and number, or the season and championship. For a unit, a department or a station: the emblem, a name and a badge or unit number. For a company or an event: the logo and a date, the same on every tag.
Keep text short. On a military-size tag, a logo with two short lines reads well from arm's length; long sentences become hard to read. Personalized names on each tag are welcome; send the list with your artwork and the quote confirms how it is priced.
